Our client is a Canadian leader in the manufacture and distribution of building materials for the home renovation and new construction markets. This century-old company is looking for a new Process Engineer to be part of its team.
The ideal candidate has excellent qualities of self-learning, autonomy and initiative. He carefully plans his process improvement projects thanks to his analytical mind, demonstrating an exemplary sense of responsibility. He will work under the responsibility of the Director of Process Engineering and will demonstrate team spirit and autonomy. The work is carried out in the Montreal facilities.

Responsibilities

Write documentation on operating procedures and process instructions, including opening and closing processes;

Perform programming modifications of PLCs and operator screens according to the needs of continuous improvement of industrial process;

Analyze, understand and measure industrial processes, operational losses and identify areas for improvement;

Develop, explain and keep up to date troubleshooting and performance correlation guides;

Communicate with the production team and the support group to improve process performance;

Evaluate the various impacts of future changes on the process;

Actively participate in the start-up and commissioning of continuous improvement projects;

Use GE Historian to collect and analyze plant data to detect problems and improve line efficiency.
Requirements
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in mechanical or other engineering;
- Member of the OIQ (asset);
- French-English bilingualism;
- 1 to 3 years of experience in process engineering;
- Knowledge of the Ladder programming language, functional block and structured text;
- Knowledge of the structure of a computer network;
- Experience in industrial networking (Ethernet, Profinet, Profibus, etc.);
- Experience programming variable speed drives Siemens, Allen-Bradley, ABB.
Assets
- Knowledge of Rockwell Automation (Allen-Bradley), Siemens and Ge Fanuc;
- Knowledge of DMAIC;
- Green belt 6 sigmas.
