Our client is a leader in green energy, is looking for a new Electrical, Automation, Renewable Energy and Power Plant Technician to be part of its team and to manage the hydroelectric plants it operates in the provinces of Quebec and Ontario.

Job Description:

 

We have a confidential and exciting opportunity for a position as an Electrical Automation Technician in the Energy division of a leading company in the development, construction and operation of infrastructure projects.

 

Main responsibilities:

 

Reporting to the Director of Energy Operations, the Electrical Automation Technician will be responsible for the following:

 

Support hydropower plant operators in the event of problems.

Participate/carry out the various improvement projects in the plants.

Supervise/assist in electrical tests carried out as part of the annual monitoring of equipment.

Coordinate the various subcontractors on the sites.

Participate in the development/implementation of new projects for the energy division.

Ensure that the equipment is properly maintained.

Maintain plant records, records and reports.

Develop operating, maintenance and safety procedures.

Respond to emergency situations and make minor repairs.

Develop and write service proposals.

Develop technical specifications and estimates.

Profile sought:

Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation and Control.

Experience in the energy field (an asset).

Skills: versatility, autonomy, dynamism, leadership, priority management.

Availability for travel to the sites.

Proficient in the MS Office suite (Word, Excel).

Additional advantages:

Knowledge of low and medium voltage distribution networks.

Instrumentation skills.

Knowledge of control systems.

Knowledge of hydroelectric turbine/generator units.

Knowledge of the mechanical equipment of a hydroelectric power plant.
