Our client, a distributor of specialized architectural equipment for construction and municipal clients, is looking for a Sales Manager to manage the Quebec team. The bilingual, conscientious and autonomous Sales Manager, with a great sense of organization, must be a unifying and charismatic leader in order to achieve results and contribute to the growth of the organization. An interest in construction, design and architecture will be considered an asset.
Under the direction of the President, the Sales Director is responsible for the management of the sales department by increasing sales volume, acquiring new customers and maintaining existing customers. Follow up with your team following requests for projects, quotes and/or information on products and services.
Specifically, your main responsibilities will be to :
Implement and continuously improve recruitment, onboarding, and training best practices to rapidly develop the sales team’s capacity, in collaboration with the HR Director, for innovative compensation programs to attract, retain, and motivate talent.
Propose and implement the analysis tools required to improve sales strategies
Understand the industry, our customers and the reality of our representatives, by being in the field, and by participating in sales meetings.
Determine and ensure the achievement of sales objectives, by sector, territory, and representative in line with the company’s growth plan;
Develop business development plans, make accurate forecasts of future sales, develop and monitor sales plans to adapt to constant market changes;
Report to the President and demonstrate the value and return on investment of sales activities;
Use levers (hiring, training, coaching and motivating employees) to have the necessary know-how and skills to ensure profitable and balanced growth;
Closely monitor sales growth, regularly assess customer satisfaction, and ensure corrective actions are made.
Supplier Communications Management:
Ensure the achievement of sales results negotiated with suppliers and maintain business relationships;
Follow up on sales plans in collaboration with the President;
Regularly assess supplier satisfaction and ensure corrective actions are made
Support the development of new markets: identify new business opportunities to feed the Marketing and Innovation strategy;
Proactively capture market needs and be on the lookout for business opportunities.
Financial Management :
Establish needs and track financial results against budget
Develop and present a budget to the President;
Ensure with Marketing & Innovation that spend is allocated on the most efficient channels to generate the best sales;
Assign representatives appropriately based on monthly, quarterly and annual budgets and hospitality needs.
Your profile • :
Undergraduate degree in a relevant field (General Management and Administration);
Good understanding of the dynamics of the public sector (mechanics of tendering);
Knowledge of information technology/sales tracking tools.
15 years of experience in sales, more specifically in the municipal, commercial and/or government sector;
At least 5 years of sales team management (recruitment, development and management of high-performance sales teams);
Development of new markets, territories;
Optimization of sales processes and implementation of efficient working methods;
Distribution and/or manufacturing sector is an asset.
Strong leadership and team mobilization skills;
Demonstrated aptitude for business development and customer/supplier relationship management skills;
Ability to provide top-notch customer service;
Strong analytical skills;
Be action-oriented and results-oriented;
Ability to develop and maintain positive and lasting business relationships with colleagues and external partners;
